Catherine Schwenkler

Catherine Schwenkler lived and studied in South America before launching her education career as an educator and Department Chair in New York City. In addition to teaching Spanish Language Arts, AP® Language and Culture, and AP® Literature and Culture, she also organized service-learning trips to Peru. More recently, she has taught in charter and public schools in the San Francisco area. She enjoys the spectrum of learners that come into classrooms that are set in diverse cities.

Schwenkler's experience teaching native and heritage speakers alongside beginner learners proved to be invaluable as a member of Wayside Publishing's author teams for EntreCulturas 2 with Megan Cory and Paulina Carrión, EntreCulturas 4 with Megan Cory and Cecilia Herrera, and Tejidos with Megan Cory and Janet Parker.
