The Wi-Fi is down… now what? When technology fails, great teaching doesn’t have to. In this lively, hands-on session, world language educators will explore fast, flexible no-tech strategies that keep instruction communicative, meaningful, and engaging no matter what happens with the internet.

AP® readiness doesn’t begin when students walk into an AP® classroom; it begins in Level 1. In this session, world language teachers will discover how to build the communication, confidence, and proficiency students need for AP® success at every stage of learning. We’ll break down what the AP® exam really asks students to do, explore how to backward plan from AP® skills into lower-level courses, and share practical ways to use authentic resources, tiered tasks, and daily routines to strengthen interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational communication.
Teachers will leave with classroom-ready tools, fresh ideas, and a clear plan for helping students grow into AP®-ready communicators—one “ingredient” at a time.
NOV 9, 7PM ET
What if vocabulary instruction felt less like memorization and more like momentum? This interactive session invites world language teachers to rethink vocabulary as something students build through context, movement, communication, and repeated meaningful use. Using our simple “Vocab Playbook” framework, participants will explore strategies that support comprehensible input, deepen connections to new language, and help students apply vocabulary across interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational tasks.
Teachers will leave with fresh ideas that make learning vocabulary more engaging for students and impactful for instruction.
