Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

ensuring all are represented because we all deserve to feel accepted

At Wayside, diversity, equity, and inclusion are much bigger than just buzz words - they are baked into who we are. The value of world language education can be distilled down to learning to understand, accept, and communicate with those whose perspectives might be different from our own. We build our products to reflect the cultures we teach as well as the learners we serve.

Wayside believes traditional hiring policies can hurt the most marginalized people in society, including people of color, people from working-class backgrounds, women, and LGBTQ people. Because we believe that these communities must be centered in the work we do, we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other marginalized communities.

We are committed to growing in our understanding and practices surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion. To that end, the Wayside DEI Taskforce researches best practices and recommends company-wide training opportunities, implementation of practices that align with DEI principles, and avenues for any Wayside employees to contribute input surrounding our DEI practices.
