EntreCultures 4
Level 4 / Intermediate Mid — Intermediate High

Overview
EntreCultures 4 is designed to help learners build proficiency through the Intermediate Mid to Intermediate High levels by offering scaffolds for advanced themes and language. EntreCultures 4 is the last level of the EntreCultures program and equips students with the skills and knowledge to pursue advanced academic programs such as AP® or IB-level courses.
EntreCultures 4
The standards-based EntreCultures program is all about teaching French language and francophone cultures to novice through intermediate learners through the lens of interculturality. Students discover appropriate ways to interact with a variety of perspectives by exploring the lives of teens across the francophone world and engaging with authentic resources from the beginning.
EntreCultures 4 is designed to help learners build proficiency through the Intermediate Mid to Intermediate High levels by offering scaffolds for advanced themes and language. Learners are exposed to and interact with more challenging authentic print and audiovisual content including literary content. This brand-new level 4 provides opportunities for in-text reviews from EntreCultures 1-3, differentiated key concepts, and in-text learning strategies for teachers and students.
EntreCultures 4 Features
-
EntreCultures 4 features a wraparound TE, providing guidance in incorporating proficiency-based instruction in your classroom, ample tips and ideas throughout each unit, teaching strategies, connections to other disciplines, and more.
-
The EntreCultures series leads with AP® and IB themes. Teacher resources in the Teacher Edition outline AP® and IB themes and subthemes and provide strategies, so you can start your learners on the right foot.
-
The EntreCultures series is full of unit-aligned resources from more than thirty Francophone cultures around the world, like podcasts, news stations, literary excerpts, videos, and more. Units are presented by native-speaker video bloggers, thus centering the language learning through the lens of cultural connections
-
The U.S.-based native and non-native speaker authors of EntreCultures, as well as our team of expert editors and curriculum coordinators, all educators and leaders in the field, considered a variety of learner and educator styles in the backward design of the series.
-
Assignable Can-Do statements in each unit of EntreCultures 4 show learners a direct connection between tasks and what they are aiming to be able to do in French. Learners can upload completed Can-Do assignments to their student portfolios to show growth, and when it is time to evaluate their learning, students can complete performance-based formative and summative assessments.
-
EntreCultures 4 nurtures your learners' interculturality by reflecting on the products, practices, and perspectives of francophone communities, as well as on how diverse languages, cultures, geography, and environments affect the world around them.
-
EntreCultures 4 fully aligns with ACTFL's World-Readiness Standards and incorporates the NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements, performance descriptors, and proficiency guidelines.
