Cynthia Chalupa
About
Cynthia Chalupa is an Associate Professor and Director of the Basic German Language Program at WVU. She completed a B.A. in German and English at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literatures at The Ohio State University. Dr. Chalupa has developed courses on German literature and culture, Business German, pronunciation and phonetics, and courses on nineteenth- and twentieth-century literature. She also teaches foreign language methods to teacher candidates at WVU and a Norse mythology FLIT course. Dr. Chalupa serves as an advisor to undergraduate German majors and leads the WVU-Fulda University Study and Internship abroad program. Since the spring of 2021, Dr. Chalupa has served on the boards of NECTFL and ACTFL.
Dr. Chalupa authored Wayside Publishing's Neue Blickwinkel together with Heiko ter Haseborg.
