Aligned to the Florida BEST Standards, EntreCultures 1 introduces novice learners to French through meaningful, real-world communication. Students begin their French journey by developing the ability to communicate about familiar topics like school, family, food, and leisure activities, using simple words and phrases the program introduces the three modes of communication (interpretive, interpersonal, presentational) and emphasizes building confidence, curiosity, and cultural awareness. Learners explore diverse French-speaking communities through authentic texts and media gaining insights into everyday life and practices.

Assessment Program

The Assessment Program offers proficiency-based assessments aligned with ACTFL guidelines. Each unit includes three formative assessments in all modes of communication, available in below-, on-, and above-level versions to support every learner.
Summative options include Integrated Performance Assessments (IPAs) that measure real-world communication skills, and Alternate Objective Tests focused on grammar and vocabulary. All assessments feature clear, consistent rubrics and can be printed or assigned in Learning Site for flexible delivery.
Midterm and Final Assessments are also available.
