What It Is 

This new feature enhances the Nualang scaffolded conversation flow, upgrading the Chatbot activity where students engage in back-and-forth dialogue in the target language. 

Previously, the Chatbot followed a fixed script—advancing to the next prompt regardless of how a student responded. Now, AI enhances the experience by interpreting student input and offering real-time feedback—nudging students to stay in the target language, add detail, or rephrase unclear responses. 

The activity remains structured and predictable. AI feedback stays within teacher-selected content, ensuring practice is targeted to curricular goals—not random tangents. It supports the existing script with context-aware guidance that encourages more authentic, on-target communication. 

Where it Applies 

• Available in all Chatbot activities across all of Nualang
• Works with all content when enabled, including content created by Wayside or teachers  
• Requires no changes from teachers, students, or admin to function
