About the anthologist: Ruth Plaut Weinreb received her Ph.D. in French from Columbia University. She was a member of the department of French and Italian at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and has taught at Harvard University, the French School at Middlebury College, and Buckingham Browne and Nichols School. Dr. Weinreb has taught courses on French language and literature, civilization, phonetics, and business. She was awarded a Scholar in Residence at the Bellagio (Italy) Study Center by the Rockefeller Foundation.
